Matters of Interest - Meeting 28 March, 2018

1. Job Vacancy: Clerk
It was agreed to advertise the Clerk's post for the third time. The closing date is April 27, 2018. If anyone is interested in the position they should contact the current Clerk, Lowri Jones: cyngorcam@gmail.com, or call 07886 367027 for an informal discussion.

2. ‘Children Playing’ Road Sign, Bont-goch
Councillor Emyr Davies reported that the sign was now in place - although it was facing the wrong way. However, thanks to Emyr and his spanner, the sign is now in the correct position.

3. Passing Places, Bont-goch roads
Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn relayed the good news that she had received a response from Phil Jones, the County Council's Highways Maintenance Service Manager for Ceredigion County Council. Phil confirmed that the County Council wanted to provide three passing places on the section of road in question (C1019 route from Cwmere to Bont-goch). He noted that the work would involve closing this section of the road whilst works take place, which is estimated to take 3 weeks to complete. He explained that the County Council intends to carry out the work during the 2018-19 work program.

4. Traffic Speed ​​- A487
It was agreed to write to Go Wales and the Police Commissioner, Dafydd Llwyd, regarding the dangerous speed of traffic on the road. In addition, it was agreed to write to the Departments of Education, Ceredigion County Council, to ask them to carry out a road risk assessment to Tal-y-bont school, highlighting the highway.


5. Choose Wales - Everyone's Request Fill on Map Boxes
Correspondence was received from Dewis Wales encourage communities to record their clubs, societies, local groups etc on their interactive online map. Its aim is to map local 'resources' that promote well-being - including social wellbeing. These maps can be searched in order to find local opportunities to socialise (and more). To register or search a resource, go to https://www.dewis.wales/ . Only 2 resources have been registered to date in the area.
